Our RTITB & ITSSAR accredited Counterbalance Forklift Training for beginners provides a minimum of 32.5 hours of instruction over 5 days. Designed for up to 3 delegates, it covers safe and efficient forklift operation, pre-use inspections, and understanding truck and load stability in line with HSE Code of Practice L117. Successful delegates are qualified to operate any counterbalance forklift up to 5000kg (with authorization) across the UK.
The course includes a mix of classroom lectures, DVD presentations, written tests, and practical training with assessment. We also offer a one-day refresher course for previously trained operators with documentary proof of formal training who need to renew their counterbalance forklift license.

Who is it for?
The RTITB Counterbalance Forklift Training Course – Novice FLT Operator course is designed for those with no prior experience of forklift truck operation who wish to achieve a nationally recognized operator qualification in the safe and correct use of counterbalance forklift up to a 5000 kg lifting capacity. Since the safe use of forklift trucks require that delegates consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, English literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any user.

- Experienced (but untrained) candidate: 19.5 hours
- Refresher (recommended every 3 years) candidate: 6.5 hours

- 3:1:1 (3 trainees: 1 instructor: 1 truck)
